Vietnam ranks first in South East Asia and third in Asia - 2012

According to the market research organization Eurowatch, Vietnam consumed 3 billion of liters of beer in 2012, three times more than in 2004. The consumption of beer per capita in 2012 was nearly 32 liters, ranking first in South East Asia and third in Asia, after China and Japan.
At least US$3 billion is spent on alcohol and beer per year in Vietnam, based on a calculation pricing beer at VND 22,000 ($1.04) per liter.
While Vietnam’s income per capita ranks eighth among the 11 countries in South East Asia, the country ranked first in consumption of alcohol and beer, above Thailand and the Philippines.
Vietnam is now among the 25 countries with the highest rates of increase in alcohol and beer consumption in the world. The country’s rate is now 15 percent, while those of Nigeria and India and Brazil are 17.2, 17, and 16 percent respectively

Currently beer consumption per capita in Vietnam nearly 30 liters/ year, head of Southeast Asia, 3rd Asia, after Japan, and China. With a population of 90 million, Vietnam beer consumption annually from 2011 to 2016 will increase by 10% each year
“In 2013, beer production of the whole industry reached 2.9 billion liters, increasing 2.5%; consumption over 3 billion liters increasing nearly 12%. In the general economy downturn, the growth rate of beverage slowed down but still hit pretty. In 2013, growth was still approximately 7%”, Dr. Nguyen Van Viet, VBA President said.
In terms of the following criteria: total sales, ROA, ROE of 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam from 2013 VNR 500 ranking: food & beverages (including beer industry) always stand in the Top 5 showing an effective performance and profitability. Specifically as follows:
