1. Production solution
a. Current ingredients of beer production:
- Beer is formed from the fermentation of sugar in the liquid medium grain and not be distilled after fermentation.
- Beer ingredient: Malt, houblon, sugar, rice, water

Barley:
- Currently in Vietnam, barley is mainly imported; domestic production is not
significant due to unsuitable natural conditions and climate. Barley imported tariffs
currently is being applied 0%.
- Major imported markets: Denmark, Germany, France, China ...

Water:
- Water accounts for 95% in beer ingredients, so chemical characteristics of water,
such as hardness, softness and minerals inside play an important role defining
characteristics and unique style of each type of beer. Therefore, to ensure the
stability of quality and taste ofthe product, the water should be treated before being
involved in the brewing process to achieve certain quality standard

Houblon
- Accounts for 70% of target material. This is also the spice of beer. Hops are used for
bittering as well as balancing the sweetness of the circuit and maintain
a longer hold time foam
- 100% is imported from Europe, Australia, America

Malt:

Rice:
As a secondary raw material, rice is used for supplementary flavor and it is very
available in Vietnam, can partially replace for barley. In beer production,
manufacturers often choose opalescent seed which is more protein
than white rice seed.
b. Alternative analysis
It is understood that a key characteristic deciding Hanoi beer quality is groundwater, an advantageous factor making Hanoi beer different from others. However, as assessed by experts in the field: comparison with famous beer brands in the world, Hanoi beer hasn’t got its own specialty taste.
Our Group suggest HABECO to produce a new product line by changing the concentration of hops, malt technological change. By this way, we expect that new product can become Vietnamese people favourite taste, resulting to revenue increase by 8% in 2015.
Upon analysis above, we need nearly 12 billion VND for this solution to increase 8% revenue in 2015.
